amy Taba

Soprano

 

 

Amy Taba is a Soprano born and raised in Hawaiʻi, currently completing her B.A. in Music with a focus in vocal performance at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. She is a recipient of the Mānoa Academic Merit Scholarship, the Jimmy Borges Endowed Scholarship in Vocal Music, the Orvis Vocal Music Endowed Scholarship, and the Mae Zenke Orvis Vocal Music Scholarship. Amy's musical training spans voice, flute, and piano, with vocal experience in classical, musical theater, and pop styles. Her recent performance projects include Carmen with Hawaiʻi Opera Theatre, the García School with Hawaiʻi International Music Festival, and the Orvis Vocal Scholars Residency with Andrew Garland and José Meléndez. She is also excited to be a part of Hawai'i Opera Theatre's world premiere of Kamalehua: The Sheltering Tree this upcoming spring.

In addition to performing, Amy enjoys teaching at multiple studios. She is passionate about sharing her love of music with her students, and recently served as Music Director for the Ohana Arts Summer Program.
